Ladson

Ladson is a fairly small CDP which encompasses parts of Berkeley, Dorchester and Charleston counties in South Carolina. It has two neighborhoods and is the 31st largest community in the state. It is conveniently near Charleston and other large cities and is therefore convenient to jobs, educational opportunities and entertainment options. Major roadways that cross the CDP include U.S. Route 78 and Interstate 26. Average commute times for residents of Ladson, run from about 30-31 minutes and most commuters drive private vehicles or carpool with friends. However, despite it being a fairly small community, bus service is available. And a number of people choose this option for their daily commutes. It is quite diverse in terms of race and ethnicity, as well as age, religion and all the other categories people want to use as labels. Common ancestries among residents of the CDP include Irish, English, Italian and Scottish. English remains the primary written and spoken language in the community, followed by Spanish and Italian.

In 2010, the population of the CDP was 13,790 and the population density was 1,963 people per square mile. By 2016, the estimated median household income in the CDP was $59,517 and the estimated per capita income was $22,246. In the same year, the estimated median house or condo value in Ladson was $147,131, the mean price on all housing units was $138,151 and the median gross rent was $1,135.
