Maybank Highway Improvements scheduled to open March 26, 2024

The Northern Pitchfork Road is open to users as of March 26, 2024 funded through a 2016 transportation sales tax. This phase included continuing two lanes of Maybank Highway onto Johns Island from the Stono River Bridge to River Road and extending the additional westbound lane to the existing right turn lane on River Road. The project is currently in Phase 3. Phase 3 features the construction of a new road connecting Maybank Highway to Fenwick Hall Allee and River Road.
